Reasons to Make Typography Videos
The main reasons why you would choose to make a video that is typography-focussed are:
- Simplicity: if you prefer short, concise messaging
- Emphasis: to draw attention to key message points
- To work when played on silent: if your video will be played in a loud place or needs to function without sound on, e.g. at a conference booth. It also improves your engagement with people who sit in open-plan offices who watch their videos silently or on low volume because they don’t have headphones and don’t want to bother their colleagues.
- Style: as a creative preference, e.g. if you want a punchy, dynamic feel.
Example #1: Bold and Punchy
In this example we use bold text and impactful visuals to help tell the story. We do use voiceover too.

This video has a more relaxed feel. It combines typography with screen views and footage.

In the below video we incorporate graphical elements into the text to make it more dynamic and then we use some motion graphic tricks to tell the story.
